Old thinking
There is this school of thought in America which has become dangerous because it's not fluid. Ideology must adapt with the times. Our world changes, thus our ideology must adapt with the new variables.
The thinking has been we must protect Israel because they are surrounded by enemies. This is well and true, but in the last two years Israel has isolated itself from the majority of the world at a high risk for it's future security and consequently the future security of America. In global world, Israel is building walls. When the walls of tyranny are falling down all around them, Israel will become the last practitioner of tyranny.
How can a culture stereotyped for being business minded, be so blind to the economic benefits of peace? The middle east countries all
around them are evolving into democracy and capitalism. This should create new economies which Israel should be able to thrive in.
However Israel is stuck in the idea of placating or opposing selfish dictators who are no longer in charge. Make the deal now before you
lose all your leverage.
